Live Orgasms in Concert by Thomas S. Roche - Eros-zine.com

I, for one, can testify that finding a decent soundtrack for sex isn't easy. Even for one so versed in the dark arts as me, the demands of creating an auditory environment for a little bit of gettin' down can be challenging.

If you're going to get really dirty, you can always fire up some Master/slave Relationship, but the person you're going to spank had damn well better have black hair, body piercings and a "Carnage is Cute" tattoo. Effecting a subtle seduction? Enya is perfect, as long as you both got plenty of sleep the night before. Bedding someone who thinks they're hip? Go ahead, play some Dead Can Dance or Enigma. But you'd better hope they just think they're hip.

For the more garden-variety rumpy-pump, of course, there's always the classic down 'n' dirty sex rhymes, for the brothas, man, for the brothas, or some latter-day hip hop audio porno, but....well, if you're going to be that obvious, your partner just might get a fit of the giggles.

On the other hand, what about music that's not only an obvious background for seduction, but exists solely to please? The first release from TriTriad Productions is CD remarkable -- and delightful -- in its simplicity. Live Orgasms in Concert is a collection of tracks that feature techno music laced with the sounds of women and couples having real orgasms. The disk was created by this small group of friends with the intention of providing just what you'd expect -- a soundtrack for sex. Far from being the music track of a standard-issue porn movie, Live Orgasms offers some enjoyable dance music, ranging from soothing to grinding, that'll keep things moving rhythmically -- while the genuine sounds of orgasmic bliss enhance your time with your lover.

We caught up with the creators to ask a few questions about how this project came to be.

Eros Zine: Who are the people behind this project? What is your background and how did you get into this idea?

DJ Triad: There are three people behind this project. CJ is currently a massage therapist. In the 1970's he produced music and was an agent in the music business. He put together groups and sold "them" to clubs for one-week engagements across the United States. DJ Triad is the owner of a massage therapy business and a former club DJ. She has excellent knowledge of music styles and mixing one song to the next so that it appears seamless. JJ is a trained photojournalist with a keen appreciation for composition and style.

As with most massage therapists, we are faced with the conversation of sex with our clients. I am not sure why, if it is the soft music, aromatic candles, the soft relaxing touch, but it never fails, somehow, some way the conversation of their sexual relationship comes up. Constantly we hear how a man's wife is not giving him enough, and from the woman how their husband does not give her enough attention or romance anymore. The end result being their sex life is down to nothing, and every time we ask the same question, "when you first got married, was it that way?" The resounding answer is always, "No, it was great."

We got to thinking about how interesting it was that what we use to relax someone in massage are the same sense components needed for a good stimulating sexual relationship. The pleasant, mood-setting senses of sight, smell and sound. Most couples cannot seem to rekindle the fires, get aroused for each other, for they forget these basic needs for romance and having great sex. They forget to set aside the time and set the mood.

If a couple plays a XXX video, for instance, they can be distracted by the action and actors and then will lose focus on each other. And sadly, most of the time, the music and the action do not match. With our CD, we want couples to be stimulated by hearing encouraging, erotic music so they can focus on each other and create their own action. The CD was truly created to do two things. For one, as a stimulant and two, to help women (and men) feel more comfortable about making sounds when they are enjoying their lover. Sounds can be the most arousing sense when making love!

EZ: How did you find people to perform for you? Was it difficult, or did people jump at the chance?

DJTThree years ago when we were first entertaining the idea of making an erotic CD, we asked the question, "What sounds turn you on sexually?" Thinking of the videos we sometimes watch, we all agreed that hearing the sexual action in the videos was actually more arousing to us than the images of the actors. So, we thought that we would try to find couples that would allow us to record their lovemaking. We did not want any faked orgasms. We have friends in the swinging lifestyle that we approached, knowing of their openness regarding sex. Some agreed to be recorded, some did not want to, and others referred us to those that might be willing. With considerable time, patience and searching we finally came up with over 100 hours of orgasms and the erotic sounds that these couples made. There are NO fake orgasms on this CD at all!

EZ: So are all the orgasms are really "real?"

DJT: YES! All are original recordings we made of real couples, NO actors.

EZ: Okay, how about the music? How was it selected? Were you going for the sort of music one might hear in a club, or more of a private party?

DJT: We originally picked some top 40 techno songs, but had a problem with licensing. We found an artist on the net named UltraMax who had no problem with our orgasmic project and picked some of his music to use on the CD. We wanted music that was rhythmic, soothing and sometimes intense. We wanted music that we believed would sync well with orgasmic sounds. We wanted tracks that would set the mood for romance and other tracks that would set the mood for intense erotic encounters couples want with each other.

EZ: What do you think makes the sound of orgasm work with techno music?

DJT: We feel that techno music by its nature can be orgasmic just by itself.

EZ: Do you plan any future releases? If so, what themes will they cover? Women's voices only? Men's voices only? BDSM (slap slap?)

DJT: Yes, we are planning a second CD release in approximately 6 months. Tentatively it is called "Live Orgasms in Concert Part II - The Second Cumming."

Currently we are recording more orgasms for that CD. Our choice of music genre has yet to be decided - we are taking input on that issue with our web-site survey.

EZ: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us -- and we hope our readers will enjoy your new CD.
